An Usana Review, What Does This Company Offer, Is It Still A Viable Business Opportunity?

I expect you are here as you are looking around for information about the Usana business opportunity.  I’ll say right now that I’m not affiliated with this company, so won’t be trying to recruit you.

I will tell you at the end of this article how you can make a success of this business though and blast away the competition

Who are Usana?

Usana are one of the many MLM Health & Nutrition companies out there, founded in 1992 by Myron Wentz Ph.d who is an internationally recognized microbiologist, immunologist, and pioneer in the development of human cell culture technology and infectious disease diagnoses.

They are one of the more established companies in the industry and take an interest in various charities, the most notable being the Children’s Hunger Fund.  Usana has donated over $8 million worth of nutritional products, helping malnourished children across the globe, which is good to see.

Usana carry a range of highly respected nutritional supplements, foods and personal skin & hair care products.  If you take the time to look at their corporate company website, I’m sure you will be impressed with just how many products they actually have!

How do they pay?

As far as commission payouts go, they are one of the highest paying in existence, with 45 cents of every dollar going back to back into the distributor network.  They operate a binary compensation plan whereby you will build just two legs.  Personally I’m not a massive fan of binaries but they can be very lucrative.  If you are new to such a comp plan then it’s definitely worth you taking the time to fully understand how this works.  Many recruiters will attempt to ‘wow’ newbie’s with the prospect of spill over commissions, giving the impression that you can just sign up and make money out of thin air.  This is not the case, you will only benefit from such commissions if your two legs are volume balanced (which means hard work) so be aware of this!  If you want to see the Usana compensation plan for yourself then you can download it here.

Can you make any money with Usana?

Well you can certainly make some money with this company, their small print says that the average established, full time associate makes around $85,000 per year, which is a handsome salary by anyone’s standard.  However in my 7 years in network marketing I have always found it more difficult to recruit into a company that’s been around for donkey’s years.  Plus you are battling against the fact that the MLM market is saturated with ‘Juice & Pill’ companies, there seems to be a new one popping up every week.

Experience has taught me it’s always easier to recruit into the latest ‘trendy’ company, who’s just hit the scene, but with Usana you do have the benefit of a rock solid track record.  They are for sure, one of the most successful companies of its type and have stood the test of time.  I don’t doubt for a minute that they will be around for many years to come.

If you are going to join this company then just be aware that over the year’s society as a whole has built up a resistance to these MLM health product companies.  People have been pitched left right and center with the latest fat loss shakes and pills, energy drinks, super vitamins etc…  After a few years of exposure an unconscious resistance develops, so you will need to find a way to cut through that (I’ll be showing you how later).  Needless to say the products are always on the pricey side, and in most cases you can get a product of a similar quality at your local health store.

I have not personally used any of Usana’s products so I can’t comment specifically on the quality although the word on the street is that they are pretty darn good.

Would I join?

Personally I wouldn’t, it’s just not my thing.  I’ve already been involved with two Juice companies in the past, my first being Lifestyles whose products were nothing out of the ordinary and also Ultralife who ended up scraping their network marketing arm lol.  I don’t mind using the products from these nutrition companies but I wouldn’t invest my time into building a business with them.  That’s just my personal standpoint, you might well feel differently.

Should you join?

If this is your sort of thing then go for it.  Usana products have been used by top class athletes from around the globe for the last 15 years so you can bet that they work well.  You will need to learn how to build your business the right way though, and that doesn’t mean just sending people to your company replicated website.
